Recipe for a Vietnamese Sandwich, used to be colonial France so this is very early fusion ;-)

Ingredients
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup white vinegar
2 tsp sugar
1 1/2 cup carrot, grated
1/4 cup white onion, sliced
1 tsp chilis, minced
1 french bread
4 tbsp mayo
1 pnd chickenbreast/pork loin, grilled, sliced thinly
1 tbsp fresh lime juice
1/2 tsp five spice powder
1/2 cup fresh coriander/cilantro, chopped
Preparation
Mix vinegar with sugar, garlic and let dissolve sugar. Add carrots, onion and chili and mix well. Let stand for a few hours.
Divide bread in 4 pieces and slice lengthwise. Spread one inside with mayo, top with meat and drizzle with limejuice and sprinkle with 5-spice powder. Then arrange carrotsalad and sprinkle with cilantro.
Top with other half of bread.
Best serve luke warm and maybe with some mild cheese.
