Ingredients
5 tbsp oil
2 red chilis, seed and chopped
3 cloves garlic, mince
1 tbsp grated ginger
4 sjalots, sliced thinly
2 tbsp sugar
1-2 tbsp light soy
juice of 1 1/2 lime
salt to taste
2 thick steaks
1 small chinese cabbage, thinly sliced
3 tomatoes, seed and skinned in thin strips
1-2 tbsp mint leaves
1 bunch fresh coriander/cilantro leaves
Preparation
Marinade
Saute garlic, chili, ginger and sjalots on low heat for about 5 mins. Add sugar, soy and lime juice. Take of heat and stir to dissolve sugar. Bring to taste with salt, if needed add extra sugar or lime juice.
Prepare steak by grilling it to your liking. When done rub generously with marinade and leave to cool. Marinate for about 1 hour in refridgerator.
Preparation
Take steak out to bring to room temperature. Slice thinly and mix with cabbage, tomato, cucumber, cilantrol and left over marinade.
