RECIPE GYOZA 2

Tapas dishes from Japan , suitable for for children or prepare with children.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 pnd chinese cabbage
  • 1/2 pnd chicken/pork mince
  • 2 tbsp soysauce
  • 1 tbsp sesameoil
  • 1 tsp mirin
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 spring onion, minced
  • some dried shitakes, soaked in hot water and minced
  • 2-3 tbsp oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 package of gyoza wrappers (or round wonton wrappers)
  • Dip
  • 1/4 cup soy
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 dash sesame oil

Preparation

Blanch cabbage leaves for a minute. Take out and press out most water and slice finely.

Mix soy, sesameoil, mirin, meat, spring onion, ginger, shitake and cabbage. Mix well and refridgerate for an hour or so.

Use about 1 tsp of mixture on a wrapper and press together with a fork.

Pan fry Gyozas, press them slightly flat in pan and fry until brown. Add water and steam them until done.

Serve with dip.
