Ingredients
1 pnd mix 'hard' vegetables (green beans, carrot, cabbage)
1/4 pnd bambooshoots
10 shallots
2 cloves garlic
1 chili
1 tsp trassi (shrimppaste)
5 kemirienuts
1 tsp sugar
1 coconut (or get about 2 cups of canned coconutmilk)
3 tbsp oil
3 salam leaves (indonesian bay leaf)
2 slices galangal (1 inch thick)
salt to taste
Preparation
Clean vegetables and cut to bitsize pieces.
Make a paste of the shallots, garlic, chili, trassi, kemirinuts and sugar.
Grate coconut and soak grate in water to get coconutmilk, about 2 cups is needed.
Fry paste in some oil and add salam and galangal and the vegetables and coconutmilk. Bring to taste with salt.
Leave to simmer until done.
