RECIPE TZATZIKI SAUCE

Recipe for the typical Greek Yoghurt Sauce

Sauces and dressings from Greece for 2 persons, suitable for on or with a bbq dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup thick, 'dry' greek yoghurt
  • 1 cucumber, grated and drained
  • salt, pepper to taste
  • some garlic, grated to taste (1 clove is plenty)
  • for extra taste add some oregano and or dille

Preparation

For a dryer version, pour yoghurt in tea cloth and squeeze out water.

Grate cucumber without seeds and skin and drain with some salt.

Mix cucumber with drained yoghurt, garlic and salt and pepper.

Serve with Gyros or other grilled marinated meat like Suvlaki.
